Preview of Auction at Quainton Road - 27th July 2008

  1. L.N.E.R. 3 Aspect Handlamp, brass plated and stamped 81577, on the side and top of the handle. Complete with vessel and burner, all glass intact & unbroken. Restored.
  2. Plastic Platform Light Cover "Harrow & Wealdstone".
  3. Bridgeplate "L.N.W.R. 32". Oval cast iron, front repainted, black letters on white background, mounted on a backboard.
  4. Carriage print "Travel In 1900 Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway" by C. Hamilton Ellis, from the LMR 'Travel-in' series issued 1951. In modern glazed frame.
  5. BR(M) Totem "RADLETT" fully flanged. MML between St Pancras and Bedford.
  6. BR Home Signal Arm.
  7. C/I Ornate Street Sign "Northwood Street" In original condition.
  8. Shedplate "1A" (Willesden - until May 1973).
  9. Wooden cased N.E.R Tyers non-permissive single dial Block Instrument. Front glass cracked, otherwise good condition.
  10. Loco Firing Shovel. In original condition.
  11. BR(M) "British Railways" poster board enamel.
  12. BR(S) Totem "SHORTLANDS". Fully flanged. Kent location on route to Tonbridge.
  13. 9x5 Worksplate "London & North Eastern Railway 7695 Stratford 1909". Ex Great Eastern Railway 4-4-0 number 1825, at grouping classified D15 and renumbered LNER 8825. Rebuilt in 1928 and 1936, it was reclassified D16/3 in 1937. Renumbered in 1942 to 7695 and to 2576 in 1946, becoming BR 62576. Withdrawn in September 1957 from Cambridge and cut up at Stratford.
  14. Enamel Poster Board Heading "London Transport". In dark blue with white lettering.
  15. BR(Sc) Station Enamel "WAITING ROOM" Fully flanged.
  16. Cast steel dual-handed "Regulator Handle" from an industrial tank loco.

  19. South African Railways Cabside Numberplate "35.438" from class 35 Co-Co diesel-electric locomotive. Oval cast aluminium 20¾" x 14½".

  21. Machinery plate "Babcock & Wilcox Ltd 1941" - circular cast iron.
  22. L.T. Underground enamel "BOROUGH".
  23. Locomotive brass water gauge, graduated 500-4000 gallons.
  24. Waterloo departure indicator enamel "Salfords", White letters on blue.
  25. Carriage Print "Wallace Monument Near Stirling" by Jack Merriott from the Scottish Region series issued 1956-7. Some foxing, in original glazed frame.

  28. BR(M) Totem "TURVEY". Fully flanged, maroon. with good colour & shine. Location between Bedford and Northampton.

  30. Industrial Locomotive Nameplate "BENJAMIN HENSHALL" from an 0-4-0ST built by Hudswell Clarke. Mounted on a polished timber backboard.
  31. Street Sign "WOOLER AVENUE". Cast iron, restored.
  32. Double sided "BUS STOP" enamel.
  33. BR(E) "HERTFORD NORTH" enamel running-in board. Fully flanged.
  34. BR(S) Totem "PETTS WOOD" Fully flanged. Kent location on mainline to Dover.
  35. Alloy plaque depicting the Mountain Goat denoting Cardiff Canton diesel depot. Diamond cast aluminium, 25" x 25".

  56. Cabside numberplate "31" from a Manchester Ship Canal 0-4-0 Sentinel Diesel Shunter, works No 10245 of 1966. Brass.

  58. Polish Loco plate - "PKP" with eagle emblem. Restored cast iron.
  59. South African Railways Cabside Numberplate "35.440" from class 35 Co-Co diesel-electric locomotive. Oval cast aluminium 20¾" x 14½".

  61. BR(S) Totem "CHERTSEY". Fully flanged, Southern suburban location between Virginia Water and Weybridge.
